F.A.Q.
What exactly do you do?
I help clients plan thoughtful, high-quality trips across the UK, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, with a focus on exceptional, independently owned hotels.
Rather than offering hundreds of options, I recommend a carefully curated selection of places I know and trust, along with suggested itineraries and introductions to reliable local partners where needed. I do not book airlines.
Are you a travel agent?
I am a licensed travel agent in New Jersey and a travel advisor.
After we complete your itinerary and decide hotels, transfers and tours you pay hotels and services directly, benefiting from my experience in choosing the right places, shaping the itinerary, and avoiding common mistakes.
Many clients prefer this approach as it offers both independence and informed guidance.
What type of hotels do you recommend?
I focus exclusively on smaller, boutique and family-owned properties.
I do not recommend large chain hotels. My interest is in places with character, strong service, and a genuine sense of location — the kind of hotels that are often harder to find without local knowledge.
What kind of trips do you typically help with?
Most clients are:
- Couples planning a special trip
- Families looking for a memorable European experience
- Travelers who value quality, but want it to feel personal rather than corporate
Trips often include a mix of destinations, with carefully chosen hotels and experiences along the way.
What budget should I expect?
The hotels I recommend are typically in the $300–$900 per night range, depending on location and season.
The focus is on value for experience — not simply price — ensuring that each place justifies its cost through quality, atmosphere and service.
How do you choose the hotels you recommend?
My recommendations are based on years of experience, personal knowledge, and ongoing research.
I look for:
- Consistency of service
- Strong ownership and management
- Sense of place (not interchangeable luxury)
- Positive long-term guest experiences
I only suggest places I would confidently recommend to friends and family.
Why wouldn’t I just use a site like Booking.com?
Large booking platforms are useful for volume and comparison, but they tend to favor scale and visibility over individuality.
Many of the most interesting hotels are harder to identify this way, and it can be difficult to judge which places are genuinely special versus simply well-marketed.
My role is to narrow the field and guide you toward the right choices.
Do you help with the full itinerary or just hotels?
Both.
Some clients simply want help selecting the right hotels, while others prefer a more complete approach, including routing, pacing, and introductions to trusted local guides or services.
How do we get started?
You can begin by submitting an enquiry through the website with a few details about your trip.
From there, I’ll come back with initial thoughts and we can take it step by step.
Do you only work with certain destinations?
My focus is on the UK, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.
Within these countries, I concentrate on regions and properties where I can offer meaningful, informed recommendations.
What makes your approach different?
I take a deliberately selective approach.
Rather than trying to cover everything, I focus on a smaller number of exceptional hotels and experiences — the kind that create lasting memories and are often missed through more general research.
